A Georgian period secretary desk from about 1790 was hand crafted of solid cherry with figured flame grain mahogany panels. There are secret compartments inside plus a locking compartment. Top outside corners have exposed hand cut dovetail joints.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique furniture. There are cut nails and restorations to the feet. Drawers have hand chamfered bottoms and hand cut dovetail joints.
Pulls and hinges are later. There are pull out supports for the drop front, the key is a handle only, the lock does not work.
Dimensions are 40" wide, 20" deep and 43" tall, the desk top is 30 1/2" high.
