A pair of Arts and Crafts or Mission Oak period stacking "lawyer" bookcases from about 1910 are all original, except for one top crown section which was rebuilt. Four sections plus tops and bases are separate stacking modules, all in quarter sawn oak. Doors have wavy glass and square patinated brass knobs.
The finish has been cleaned and buffed, and is remarkably well preserved with warm antique patina. No maker's signature survives on this American made library or office furniture. Books up to 11 1/2" wide and 12" tall fit in each section.
Measurements are 33" wide, 13" deep and 71 1/2" tall.
