A spectacular pair of side-by-side or corner bookcases from the Victorian Renaissance period about 1870 are solid walnut with matched elm and walnut burl panels. Both have an unfinished end that can be put into a corner, or they can be reversed and placed together, walnut joining strips are included.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on this grand American made antique library furniture. Curved crowns include four different classical head sculptures in profile with grapevine motifs. When used in corners, the left bookcase is slightly wider.
Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints. Each bookcase has three separate banks of adjustable shelves. Keys operate all locks. Hand carving and deeply sculpted moldings show masterful artistry. Even the back is solid walnut with raised panels. These historic bookcases disassemble into many pieces for easier delivery.
Measurements are 9' 1" tall, 25" deep and the left corner cabinet is 83" wide tip to tip, and the right cabinet is 72" wide.
Shipping rate based on ground floor delivery from a trusted service provider. Most deliveries occur 14-30 business days from payment, some slightly longer, some shorter.
