A lovely scene depicts "Arthog Waterfalls in Wales," near the Atlantic Welsh coast southwest of Liverpool. Signed "Campbell Scott," this sunset scene shows the ocean and low mountains.
Campbell Sydney Scott lived 1930-2003, and was a Renaissance man. Born in Scotland, he was famous for his natural views of famous country places in Britain like this. A talented sculptor, jeweler, ceramicist and wood carver, he was especially famous as a graphic artist and professor. In 1951, he moved permanently to Canada. His works are in major collections and museums, including the Tate Modern and the British Museum in London.
The vintage canvas is undamaged on this work of art, and the original embossed gold frame is in very fine condition with minor wear.
Measurements are 42" wide, 30" tall and 2" deep.
