Signed by famous maker, "Verdelite, Pat. May 8, 1917," this marvelous "banker's" desk lamp or piano lamp has an original emerald green blown glass shade with some chips that have been ground, see photos. The name is from the verdelite tourmaline gemstone, the maker is reported as "Faries of Decatur, Il."
To reflect light down onto paperwork, the interior of the blown glass shade was cased with a layer of opal white glass, the bottom edge was then ground and polished. There are chips, see photos.
The embossed solid brass base is weighted, and has an adjustable angle and just enough wear for a little antique patina, see photos. An original brass standard base socket with pull chain switch has been rewired, bulbs not included. There are two joints to adjust to any position.
The shade is 9" across, the base is 7" square, and height of this nostalgic antique desk or piano light is 14" overall at the tallest adjustment.
