Shipper: STORE PICK UP
A Victorian period grandfather or tall case clock from about 1860 is mahogany, signed "J. & W. Mitchell of Glasgow," Scotland.
The brass movement was recently serviced and oiled, and keeps accurate time for a week on a winding, counting the hour on a bell. Iron weights and brass pendulum appear original. There is wear and some repainting to the original hand painted dial, see photos.
The "drumhead" case has an excellent restored finish on this British antique furniture. There is a working lock on the lower door and round old wavy glass over the dial.
Measurements are 20" wide, 10" deep and 80" tall.
This clock needs to be "set up" when delivered - weights and pendulum attached and the case leveled. Most of our customers can do this as we walk them through the fairly simple steps by phone. The process is not very difficult, and it is also nice to know how to do this again whenever the clock needs to be moved for cleaning, painting or whatever. A few customers prefer to hire a local clockmaker at their own expense to make a house-call and set up the clock, which is usually not very expensive, depending on your location.
Shipping rate based on ground floor delivery from a trusted service provider. Most deliveries occur 14-30 business days from payment, some slightly longer, some shorter.
