Hand hewn of solid oak about 1770 in France, this richly carved armoire, wardrobe or closet has intricately paneled doors. Every surface has hand planing marks, joints have wooded pegs on this country or Provincial antique furniture.
The old finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints. Brass hardware and the large working door lock are antique. Shelves are later and removable, interior depth is 18." Side panels are raised. This historic 18th Century armoire does not disassemble, but the crown is removable if needed for delivery.
Dimensions are 67" wide at the crown, 23" deep and 83" tall.
