Beached Fishing Boat, Original Antique Dutch Oil Painting, Willem 1891 #32857

Titled "Beached Fishing Boat and Fishermen," this original oil painting on canvas is signed "M. H. Willem, 1891."

The famous Dutch artist, Mesdak Hendrick Willem, was a renowned nautical painter, and lived 1831-1915. He received a gold medal at the 1870 Paris Salon. As the son of a wealthy banker, he was a supporter of many artists. He served as chairman of the Art Society of the Hague. His home and paintings are now a museum in Holland. On the back is the label from the gallery in Evansville, IN.

Heavy brushwork and cool colors are beautiful. The mottled gold vintage frame is later.

Overall size is 20" wide, 24" tall and 1 1/2" deep.
