A Victorian period insulated or early "thermos" silverplate water pitcher bears opulent hand engraving plus three dimensional faces. There is a separate base with a well for collecting condensation for this tilting buffet or table top pot.
Signed "Jas. Stimpson, Pat. 1854," this American made antique serving ware is in very fine condition. The Stimpson family of silversmiths worked in Baltimore 1855-1868. There are several dents and dings, see photos.
Size is 11" across, 9" deep and 18" tall.
