This superior quality roll top desk from the late 1800's is solid quarter sawn oak with raised panels all around. Signed by famous maker "Cutler of Buffalo, NY," Abner Cutler received a patent in 1882 for the first roll top desk of this type. There were countless imitations, but this maker was known for exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
There are mail slots on the sides plus numerous compartments and drawers inside. The restored "S" curve roll glides smoothly.
The restored deep finish is in excellent condition on this antique library or office furniture. Deep drawers have original carved pulls, there are two pull out shelves for extra workspace.
Measurements are 54" wide, 35" deep, 51" tall, the top is 30 1/2" high and the kneehole is 22" wide and 27" high.
