A rustic country farmhouse kitchen pantry jelly cupboard was hand crafted about 1860. Wide planks of solid poplar hardwood were secured with square cut nails on this American made primitive furniture.
The backsplash has a warp from age. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms. Hand planing marks are everywhere, doors have reverse raised panels.
The restored finish is in excellent condition with warm patina, preserving stains and mars for antique character. Sturdy shelves held jams and jellies from the fall harvest to last a full year in a farmhouse, with a lock on the door to keep hungry children at bay.
Size is 41" wide, 18" deep and 59" tall.
