A Sheraton period sewing stand or work table was hand crafted about 1820. Carved of mahogany, the flame grain top is banded in genuine rosewood. A sliding needlework bin is lined in bookbinder's paper and has a faded silk cover under this East Coast American made antique furniture.
The old finish is in very good condition with warm patina and the irregularities associated with flame grain plus wear and mars. One side has a drawer with hand cut dovetail joints, the other side is a false drawer for symmetry. Brass wheels are original.
Size is 24" x 16" and 26" tall.
