A cylinder or "barrel" rolltop desk from the late Victorian or Eastlake period about 1885 was carved of solid walnut with burl panels. The pull out writing surface has new natural saddle leather.
The restored finish is in excellent condition with warm antique patina, preserving a few stains and mars for antique character. American made library furniture, the roll top has matched burl panels and glides smoothly.
Drawers have round "pin and cove" dovetail joints, knobs are original. The door has a working lock and key.
Size is 48" wide, 23" deep, 45" tall and the desktop is 29 1/2" high.
