A classic wing chair has beautiful proportions, and the hand carved solid mahogany base appears to be Georgian period from about 1775, but we have not torn back the upholstery to be certain.
The Milwaukee family where the chair was acquired said it was American made from that colonial era, and the hand tool work and planing plus mortise joints in the base support that history.
The older damask upholstery is quite clean and unworn, there is sun fading plus some lighter spots, probably from cleaning, see photos.
There is a comfortable cushion and the frame is tight and strong. The old finish on the legs is very well preserved with appropriate wear and warm antique patina and has been waxed and buffed.
Measurements are 33" wide, 33" deep, 47" tall and the seat is 20" deep and 18" high.
