Ruggedly crafted about 1900 for a trade school, this carpenter's work bench makes a functional kitchen island counter or wine and cheese tasting table.
Solid hard maple, the finish is in excellent condition, preserving lots of stains, mars and dings for antique character.
There is a recessed tray to keep tools and parts from rolling away, square holes were for pegs that held projects to glue.
Four drawers have original bin pulls, each student cabinetmaker had a locking drawer for his tools. on this American made commercial grade antique furniture. An iron vise clamp at the end will crack any nut.
Measurements are 54" long, 28" deep, including the vise in the closed position and 36" tall.
