This Chinese chair from about 60 years ago becomes a step stool or ladder chair when flipped open. The back is genuine rosewood with inlaid marquetry of mother of pearl dancing figures. The frame is ash hardwood.
The original glossy finish is in very fine condition on this vintage furniture. Sometimes called a "metamorphic" chair, the frame is sturdy and strong.
