A country pine farmhouse kitchen pantry "jelly cupboard" was made to hold the home made jams and jellies for the coming year. There was always a working lock to keep hungry children at bay. Hand crafted about 1850 in Ohio, this is a straightforward example.
The finish is in excellent condition, preserving original worn red paint. A drawer has hand cut dovetail joints, door panels are revers raised. The back is rough sawn, attached with cut square nails.
Size is 41" wide, 18" deep and 61" tall. The shelves are 14" deep.
