Chestnut Hand Carved Antique French Wedding Chest #33516

A small traditional wedding chest was hand carved of solid chestnut in France around 1880. Corners have hand cut dovetail joints and carving is delicate and artistic on this antique furniture.

Hand wrought handles appear original, the escutcheon and hinges are old but not original, there is no lock. Inside is a cupboard compartment for valuables.

The original finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed. All that is needed to maintain its warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.

Size is 25" wide x 12 1/2" deep and 11" tall.
