A bold original oil painting on board from about 40 years ago depicts a Cardinal and his aide in front of city walls, signed "Bosa."
Louis Bosa,1905–1981, was born near Venice, Italy, and emigrated to the U.S. at age 18 after studies at the Accademia della Belle Arti in Venice and became an American citizen.
He taught at Parsons in NYC, Cleveland and Notre Dame. His paintings are in countless museums across America and around the world.
There is a gold liner and the frame is weathered oak. The painting was sold by the "Oehlschlager Gallery of Chicago."
Overall size is 22" x 12" and 2" deep.
