Hand crafted for a neighborhood pub in England, this Victorian period armchair has a seat carved from a single thick plank of solid elm. Spindles have varying shapes, showing hand work.
The old finish has charming wear and is in very good condition. There are numerous warps and twists from age plus a blacksmith iron repair on the seat, see photos. Large and comfortable, the rugged frame is reglued to serve another generation.
Dimensions are 26" wide, 28" deep, 43" tall and the seat is 17" high and 17" deep.
