This traditional Japanese "Kuruma Tansu" or rolling dowry chest with wheels was hand crafted about 60 years ago of pine. The wheels symbolize a bride's move to her husband's family home. Wrought iron hardware is original.
The original finish is in very fine condition on this hand hewn vintage furniture. There is a center lock that uses an L-shaped "key," other locks have no keys. Drawers have bamboo pegs.
Dimensions are 62" long, 30" deep and 50" tall.
