Anglo Indian Antique Rosewood & Satinwood Bookcase or Armoire & Desk #33703

A picturesque armoire, bookcase or wardrobe from British India about 1880 has a flip open desk inside. Hand carved of solid satinwood with genuine rosewood, doors have wooden pegs at the joints and a working lock. Native Indian cabinetmakers were working in the English tradition.

The old finish is very well preserved with warm patina on this antique furniture. Drawers inside have hand cut dovetail joints, shelves are removable. Every surface is irregular, showing truly made by hand craftsmanship.

Measurements are 45 1/2" wide, tip to tip, 19" deep and 71" tall.
