An Empire period sofa from about 1825 has a hand carved solid mahogany frame with classical eagle, cornucopia or horn of plenty, acanthus motifs and lion paw feet. There are also scrolled panels of flame grain and this historic sofa is newly upholstered.
The restored finish is in excellent condition, preserving just enough mars and shrinkage separations from age for a little antique character. The frame has been reglued to serve another generation. American made furniture, the seat is comfortable and the back is typically firm.
Size is 95" long, 27" deep, 34" tall and the seat is 18" high and 20" deep.
