A late Georgian secretary desk and bookcase from the mid 1800's was hand crafted in England. Crafted of mahogany with flame grain panels and inlaid banding, there are various warps and shrinkage separations.
The drop front is supported on pull out supports, the lock works but does not catch because of warping, see photos. Inside are tiny drawers and cubicles plus a locking compartment.
The restored satiny finish is in excellent condition, preserving warm patina on this antique library or office furniture. Graduated drawers have solid oak sides and hand cut dovetail joints. The bookcase is removable for easier delivery.
Doors have a brass center molding, original grillwork and individual panes of wavy glass plus a working lock. Slide in book shelves are adjustable.
Measurements are 43 1/2" wide tip to tip, 23" deep and 85" tall, the desktop is 33" high, used standing or with a stool.
