Country Pine Antique Immigrant Trunk or Blanket Chest, Dovetail Corners #33933

A traditional country pine "immigrant trunk" from northern Europe has wooden pegs at the joints and hand cut dovetail joints at the corners and dates from around 1850. The top was slightly "dome" shaped to be placed at the top of the pile of trunks in a ship's hold on the way to America.

The restored finish is in excellent condition with glowing warm patina, preserving loads of mars and wear for character. Hand wrought iron hardware is original on this antique furniture.

Size is 35" long, 18" deep and 20" tall.
