Walnut Burl Antique Inlaid French Game Table Chess, Cribbage, Backgammon #34899

An exquisite game table was hand carved of walnut and burl in France about 1870. The flip and swivel top has inlaid marquetry boards for checkers, chess, cribbage and backgammon.

The restored finish is in excellent condition, preserving the irregularities typical of burl on the top, see photos. The key is a handle only, the lock does not work on this antique European furniture.

Reglued to serve another generation, the base is strong. There are hand cut dovetail joints on the drawer for game pieces.

Measurements when closed are 21 1/2" x 16" and 28" tall, open size is 33" x 21 1/2."
