A grand throne or hall chair from about 1895 was hand carved of beech in the Flemish part of Belgium. The old tapestry upholstery is faded and has a bridge, castle and parrot with brass nail head trim.
The original finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. There is a finial on the trestle base of this large and sturdy antique furniture.
Measurements are 28" wide, 24" deep and 52" tall, the seat is 18" high and 19" deep.
