A hand crafted solid maple carpenter work bench from the early 1900's could also serve as a kitchen island or wine and cheese tasting table. There is an original cast iron clamp or vise to hold woodworking projects, or possibly to crack nuts, signed "Columbia Vise of Cleveland, Ohio."
The restored finish is in excellent condition, preserving lots of mars, stains and wear for antique character on this American made antique farmhouse style furniture. There is some curly or "birdseye" maple grain.
Peg holes were used to secure woodworking projects when gluing. The recessed tray kept parts and tools from rolling away.
Measurements are 52" wide, 22" deep excluding the clamp, 28" with the clamp and 32" tall.
