Carved in the Renaissance manner with three dimensional legs, pedestals and feet, this palatial solid walnut dining set includes a table with two leaves and six chairs, dating from about 1925.
The original deep finish has been preserved by a clear coat of varnish. Richly carved, the trestle bases are graceful on this American made antique furniture.
The table has a matched burl top with genuine rosewood, tulipwood and mahogany banding There are mars and wear at the edges for a little character, see photos. Two matching 10.5" leaves are original and have matching skirts.
Table measurements are 45" wide, 30" tall, legroom is 25.5" and 65.5" long when closed, with both leaves in place, length is 86.5" overall.
Chairs have heraldic shields, new upholstery, and share the same rich carvings as the table. Large and comfortable frames are tight and strong, reglued to serve another generation.
The armchair measure 29" wide, 26" deep, 47" tall, and the seat is 20" high and 18" deep. Five side chairs are 21" wide, 23" deep, 43" tall and seats are 16" deep.
