Victorian Antique Carved Walnut Secretary Desk & Bookcase #35791

A Victorian period secretary desk and bookcase from about 1865 was hand carved of solid walnut. The drop front has a new leather writing surface, inside are cubicles and a tiny drawer for papers.

The restored satiny finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique library or office furniture. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and "racetrack" moldings.

There are working keys for all locks except the drop front, that lock does not work and the key is handle only.

Bookcase shelves adjust on wooden supports. For easier moving, the bookcase is a separate piece.

Measurements are 49" wide tip to tip, 20" deep and 87" tall.
