Shipper: STORE PICK UP
A Victorian 1880 era "ship captain's" desk was also called a "Davenport" after its English inventor, Col. Davenport. The compact size and efficient use of space made this antique furniture functional on shipboard.
Solid walnut with burl panels, the restored finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique furniture. Comfortably angled, the top has a new saddle leather writing surface. On the back is a gallery to hold books. On the right is a tiny drawer fitted to hold an inkwell and pens plus larger drawers with hand cut dovetail joints.
Dimensions are 22" wide, 23" deep, 37 1/2" tall, and the desk top slopes from 31" to 33" high.
