Hand Painted Antique Japanese Lacquer Calligraphy Writing Box #36510

This hand painted lacquer calligraphy or writing box from the late 1800's was expertly hand crafted in Japan. There is a tilt up writing surface and numerous small compartments for inks and pens.

The original finish is very well worn, there are warps and shrinkage separations from age, see photos.

Size is 15" x 11" and 6 1/2" tall.
