Victorian Antique Bronze Kylix or Calling Card Tray, Mythical Scene #36842

A cast solid bronze "Kylix," or traditional classical Greek wine drinking cup was used as a tray for social calling cards during the Victorian period, dating from about 1880.

There is a mythical scene in the center panel of this sculptural stand, surrounded by original ruddy patination. The base is polished black slate with a few flakes at the edges, heavy weight is 12 lbs.

Measurements are 17 1/2" across, 12 1/2" diameter and 9" tall.
