A spectacular Renaissance style "Cabinet of Curiosities," or display cabinet for an aristocratic collector was hand crafted in Austria about 1860. The genuine ebony background has bone inlay with engraved angel and dragon marquetry designs and a monogram. There are glass shelves and a working lock on the door.
The restored finish is in in excellent condition, preserving various losses, mars and shrinkage separations from age. Doors have original wavy glass, the interior is upholstered.
The drawer has hand cut dovetail joints on this palatial antique furniture.
Measurements are 47" wide tip to tip, 18" deep and 84" tall.
