Vintage Servant Bell Pull, Needlepoint & Petit Point, Bronze Mounts #37315

This charming servant bell pull is genuine hand stitched needlepoint and petit point. Mounts are solid bronze, dating from about 50 years ago.

Bell pulls were used in wealthy households during the Nineteenth Century to summon servants. By pulling the textile, tassel or string, one rang a bell that was strung up and connected to an elaborate system that ran throughout the house, ending in servant quarters or a kitchen.

Size is 54" long, 5 1/2" wide and sits 1/2" off the wall.
