This large mahogany cigar humidor cabinet was built in 1927 for the lobby of the 59 East Van Buren Street Building in downtown Chicago. Removed in 1989, this architectural salvage could be a bookcase or farmhouse kitchen pantry cupboard.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique store counter furniture. Drop front doors have spring hinges. A mirror has "smoke" to show its age, the open section below was for a cash register.
Compartments have a tin lining. Doors have original beveled glass and solid brass hardware. The upper section is removable for easier transport.
Dimensions are 99" wide, 17" deep and 90 1/2" tall, the base is 34 1/2" high.
