A palatial "Bureau Plat" a library or office desk, was hand crafted in the Louis XIV manner about 1900 in France. The inlaid marquetry includes rosewood, satinwood and mahogany.
Genuine cast solid bronze mounts include corner sculptures with lion paw feet plus grapevine and crest motifs. The top is gold tooled leather, rimmed all around in bronze. Drawers have working locks.
The restored old finish is in very fine condition, preserving many restorations, shrinkage separations from age and mars over the years for antique character.
Dimensions are 72" long, 36" deep and 31" tall, legroom is just over 23."
