A late Victorian or Eastlake period classic "S" shape roll top desk from about 1885 is solid walnut, signed on a brass plaque "Kelsall Desk, Cincinnati, O." There are two leather pull out writing shelves plus a file drawer on this American made antique library or office furniture.
A central swivel inkwell, mirror and drawer unit is suspended from the cubbyholes, flanked by two secret pen drawers. On the side is a mail slot.
The restored rich finish is in excellent condition, preserving just enough mars and wear for a little antique character. American made antique library or office furniture, the deep drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and original carved walnut pulls. Solid walnut panels have "fluting."
The roll glides smoothly. For easier delivery, the upper section is removable.
