This gorgeous Victorian period grand piano from the 1860's is genuine rosewood, signed "Kirkman of London" with brass inlay. All the keys work except the lowest bass key, but this piano would need professional restoration to be playable.
The iron frame is hand painted. Brass wheels are original on this English antique instrument.
The old finish is well worn with shrinkage separations from age, there are numerous losses and loose areas of the rosewood veneer, especially on the top of the rim, see photos. Candle stands slide forward and the music desk is adjustable. Inside are birdseye curly maple panels.
Measurements are 56" wide, 86" long and 38" tall when the wing is closed.
