This antique Art Nouveau period sculpture lamp signed by "Auguste Moreau" depicts a woman dancing with ribbons and vines. The base has a plaque that reads "Danse Printaniere" or Dance of Spring, Par (by) Aug Moreau (Sculpt)."
The famous family of sculptors was renowned for their naturalistic beautiful works of art. The sculpture is spelter, a white metal alloy, and has original bronze toned patination. Probably used as a newel post lamp, the statue is striking.
Standard base sockets have been rewired with a switch on the cord, bulbs not included.
Size is 18 1/2" wide, 8" deep and 28 1/2" tall.
