A splendid portable travel or "lap" writing desk has a secret compartment with drawers, and was the "Laptop" of the Victorian age.

• English 1880s antique portable desk
• Exotic genuine walnut burl
• Inlaid brass mounts, presentation plaque was not engraved
• Restored finish in excellent condition, preserving dings, mars, shrinkage separations & some losses to brass trim - see photos
• Two brass and cut glass inkwells are included
• Gold tooled leather writing surface inside
• Secret compartment opened by lifting divider by pen rest, a door springs open to tiny jewelry drawers inside

Size is 16" wide, 10" deep and 7" tall when closed.
