Pair of Oak Macey Lawyer's or Barristers Bookcases

This pair of authentic antique stacking oak lawyer's bookcases are entirely original and signed "Macey" in each section. The original wavy glass, hardware and golden finish are all exceptional, there is wear to the interior bottoms where books were slid in and out, see photos.

These sections are larger than usual, with a step between the two lower and two upper sections. Bases and tops are also separate pieces.

Overall size of both bookcases is 34" wide, 15" deep and 5'9" tall. These "barrister" bookcases are superior quality furniture from just after 1900. The top compartments hold books up to 10" x 10," the second compartment, up to 10" wide and 12" tall, the two bottom sections up to 12 1/2" wide and 13 1/2" tall. This historic pair of bookcases are remarkably well preserved.
