Georgian Dining Set, 11'8" Banded Table, 10 Chairs

Traditional elegance and good taste are reflected in this Georgian style dining set, including a lavishly banded flame mahogany table with 3 leaves, and 10 matching carved chairs.

The table top is spectacular, with matching repeated flame grain center, and multiple wide edge banding in exotic rosewood, tulipwood and ebony. Polished to a rich gloss, there are the typical minute markings that are characteristic of natural flame and burl grain. Carved pedestals with brass feet support the inch-thick table top, and all three 22" wide leaves match and fit perfectly, all have recessed aprons.

This table has never been eaten on and was only used for display for several months, and the maker's signature is removed. Size is 4' across, 31" tall, and 6'2" long when closed, with all 3 leaves installed, the table is a generous 11'8" long. Ten matching solid mahogany chairs are carved in the early Georgian style, with delicate detailing. These chairs are virtually new, never used for dining. There are tiny variations and irregularities that show they were truly hand carved, the semi-glossy finish is excellent. All are large and comfortable sturdy chairs, with neutral upholstery that can easily be changed to accomodate any setting.

The 2 armchairs are 26" wide, 21" deep, and 40" tall, seats are 19" high. Eight side chairs measure 23" wide, 21" deep and 40" tall

Two more side chairs can be added at an extra charge if desired.

The four-leg pedestals have been moved in from the ends for better proportion and balance, so at least one leaf must remain in the table at all times. If the table needs to have all leaves removed, pedestals can be reattached in the old screw holes underneath, closer to the ends. B-LH6
