Victorian Statue of a Cavalier Gentleman

An exquisitely detailed statue of a Cavalier is cast spelter or pewter-like metal. We see no damage to this antique Victorian sculpture, and can find no signature.

Dating from about 1890, the original wooden base is ebonized with a little wear at the edges. The standing gentleman wears a medal and carries a book, looking like one of the Three Musketeers, but the subject of this artwork is unknown. He cuts an imposing figure with a bold and direct gaze.

Overall height is 21" and the statue without the wooden pedestal is 18" high.
