Antique English Silverplate Meat Serving Dome

The height of food presentation, this silverplate dome was used to keep food warm on a platter, until removed with a dramatic flourish at the dining table.

The graceful handle is removable, and there are tiny dents and wear to this oval dome from about 1900. Inside are hallmarks, and there is a loop to hang this brilliantly polished dome on the wall.
