A genuine Victorian "Wooton Rotary Desk" has files that swing out with a "rotary" motion on this famous patented desk from the 1870's. All solid walnut with matched burl panels, the gleaming finish is superb on all sides with only minor stains or mars - the golden patina is beautiful.
The top is inlaid with gold tooled leather in very fine condition. Drawers have hand-cut dovetails and original pulls.
This famous American antique furniture is signed with an engraved nickel plate on the front from one of America's most fabled desk makers, Wooton of Indiana.
Size is 5' long, 33" deep, 31" tall and the kneehole is 24 1/2" high and about 25" wide at the front. When the sides are opened, length is 7'4" total.
