Hand-made with square nails about 1860, this charming solid walnut jelly cupboard is said to be from Pennsylvania. The finish is excellent with warm patina and lots of character, stains, mars and wear to show its age.
The back is rough sawn on this very rugged country furniture, designed to hold the entire jam and jelly supply from the fall harvest for the rest of the year. There was always a lock to reduce "shrinkage" from hungry children on these nostalgic cabinets.
Measurements of this American antique furniture with an arched gallery are 43" wide, 17" deep and 50" tall.
