This charming mahogany "steeple" clock has a reverse painting of the "Capital at Albany, NY" in the glass door.
Victorian nostalgic design, this clock is signed by famous maker, "E. N. Welch of Forestville, Connecticut" on the original paper label inside. The 30 hour brass movement is a good runner and strikes the hour. This clock was made in the 1850's.
The mahogany case has a very nice finish, there are losses in the reverse painting and wear to the painted dial, see photos. Size of this antique is 10" wide, 19 1/2" tall and over 4" deep.
