A solid walnut late Victorian or Eastlake bench was said to have been used in a Chicago railroad station, and later used in a Chicago "Loop" law office.
The finish is excellent, there is incised "spoon" carving characteristic of the period, about 1885. New upholstery and a strong and stable frame make for durable and functional furniture.
Dimensions of this elegant American antique are 5' 6" long, 24" deep, 40" tall and the seat is 17" high.
