This stately Georgian tall case or grandfather clock from England is in excellent running condition and dates from the 1820's. Mahogany with inlaid satinwood banding, the case has a very fine finish, enhancing the beautiful flame grain door panel.
The case is well proportioned and has clean, elegant lines. There are old shrinkage cracks and rebuilt feet, fairly typical on furniture of this age. Original hand-planed boards are visible on the backside.
The artistically painted dial appears original and unretouched on this historic antique clock, hands are hand-cut and engraved.
A professional clockmaker has cleaned, oiled and adjusted the original 8 day movement, it runs accurately and there is a bell strike on the hour. Measurements are 22" wide, 10" deep and 7'3" tall.
